It's lucky for those U.S. viewers who get to watch David Fincher's highly-anticipated return to his thriller territory in THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO in a few days' time (Dec 20), while we local viewers only get to watch them on February 2 next year. Anyway, during a press conference in New York City for the upcoming movie, director David Fincher has revealed that he will possibly shooting the remaining two sequels back to back for THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE and THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST. Here's what he had to say below.
Yes, the second two books are very much one story and it doesn’t seem prudent to me to go to Sweden for a year. Come back for a year. Put out the second one. Go to Sweden for a year. Come back for a year. I don’t think Rooney wants to be doing this four years from now. So I think that would be crazy especially given the sense that it’s really one story that’s kind of bifurcated in the middle.
So here lies the biggest question: When are we going to see THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE and THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST? Hopefully Sony, which distributed the movie, has an official announcement coming soon.
