If you looked at Bill Paxton's acting resume as well as his two directorial effort, horror genre FRAILTY (2001) and sports drama THE GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED (2005), it's hard to believe that he's the right candidate to direct a martial-art movie. Yes, you read that right. Believe it or not, he's in talks to direct KUNG FU, a big screen adaptation of the iconic 1972 TV series that starred the late David Carradine. John McLaughlin (BLACK SWAN) will pen the script. The movie will be shot partly in China next summer.
That is interesting. Bill Paxton is definitely an odd but somewhat fascinating choice to direct KUNG FU. Let's see if he's really up to the task or not.
