Hong Kong's popular singer-actress Karen Mok (SO CLOSE, EAST MEETS WEST) has been selected as the female lead for Keanu Reeves' directorial debut, MAN OF TAI CHI.
In the movie, Mok will play a police officer.
Mok has emerged as top choice for the female lead, following after a few months' casting progress which includes Zhang Ziyi, Gong Li, Liu Yifei and Huang Shengyi.
MAN OF TAI CHI also stars Reeves as a villain. The movie is described as "a modern kung fu lick with a tai chi twist". It is expected to start filming in February in Beijing.
