TRON: LEGACY Garrett Hedlund Is Officially In Talks

It's finally official! TRON: LEGACY star Garrett Hedlund has now accepted the role of Kaneda and is in final negotiations for the lead role in the long-gestating, live-action version of AKIRA. Hedlund has been a front-runner for the role ever since the movie is greenlighted last month.

The live-action version of AKIRA will have Kaneda (Hedlund), the leader of a motorcycle gang in New Manhattan, who must save his friend, Tetsuo from a government medical experiment.

Jaume Collet-Serra will be directing the movie from a screenplay by Steve Kloves.
